Aside from the tried-and-true tonewood combination of a mahogany back, sides, and neck and a Sitka spruce top, the awesome A.R.E. treatment is essentially a torrefaction (“roasting”) of the top to accelerate the “aging” of the wood over time, that makes it much more resonant and lively. The old adage that acoustics just sound better and better over time isn’t just a myth, it’s factually proven – and this method has got it down to a science.
