If you were a fan of the old PRS 408, or if you ever felt like the Custom 24 needed even more versatility than it already had, then this guitar has your name all over it! The Custom 24-08 is a hybrid of the flagship Custom 24 model with some of the pickup combinations offered in the 408 – with two individual coil-split mini-toggles, you can achieve literally any combination of humbucking and/or single-coil modes.

The majority of Custom 24s and 24-08s these days come with PRS’ flagship 85/15 TCI pickups, and for good reason. These are a faithful evolution of the pickups that put Paul Reed Smith on the map, but now they come TCI-tuned, which, long story short, makes them even better than they were before! They sit in a just slightly-hotter-than-vintage level of output to cover that base if that’s what you need, but can also more than handle their own in more modern settings as well. They handle saturation and distortion with grace and ease.

Playability-wise, the Pattern Thin neck shape is lightning-fast to maneuver around and definitely allows for some effortless fast runs while not feeling like a toothpick in your hands.

There’s a very real thing that can happen when you pick up a guitar that is just so inspiring that it makes you a better player by not only being easier to play, but also by giving you more motivation to pick it up and play it every chance you get. The workhorse Custom 24-08 can easily become one of those instruments for you, as it has for many.

The Custom 24 is the quintessential PRS guitar, the iconic instrument that started it all back in 1985. The Custom 24-08 keeps all of the same foundational specifications as the original Custom – maple top, mahogany back and neck, 24 frets, 25” scale length, the PRS patented Gen III tremolo, and dual 85/15 pickups – but adds a new level of versatility with its simple switching system. Featuring mini-toggle coil tap switches, the Custom 24-08 has eight different pickup settings that provide an array of humbucking and singlecoil tones, including a dual singlecoil option unique for this model.
